Created by the Spanish King Fernando de Aragón in October 1511, this museum was originally the first court of the new world. The building served various purposes, including housing for important political figures, operating as an art school and finally becoming a museum in 1976.
The museums 20 rooms hold artifacts from 1492 to 1821 giving you an understanding of the history of the island. You will find historical paintings, antique furniture, dramatic chandeliers, military items and an interactive map that shows the routes Colon used to discover the Americas. A museum not to be missed.
